JH Votes Yes

A group of community members has recently formed a PAC, ‘Jackson Hole Votes YES!’ to advocate for keeping the community in Jackson Hole -- building the town and county we as locals want to live, work and raise our families in – by supporting the full slate of projects proposed on the 2019 SPET ballot.

Each item on the SPET ballot directly supports important items the Jackson community has repeatedly said they value – safety, health, environmental sustainability, housing and wildlife.

PAC Chairs include Joni Upsher, Lauren Dickey and Mike Welch, who see this as an opportunity to educate voters and encourage them to support community values in November.

“Road to Zero Waste” Infrastructure Improvements at the Teton County Recycling Center and the Teton County Composting Facility.

$2,500,000.00 for planning, designing, engineering, purchasing and constructing infrastructure improvements at both the Teton County Recycling Center and the Teton County Composting Facility.

These are needed to boost the waste diversion rate from its current 34% to the community's goal of 60%by 2030. Specifically, the funds will be used to construct a covered outdoor area of residential bins, to construct sorting system infrastructure, and to install a truck scale at the Teton County Recycling Center; and to construct a food waste sorting system at the Teton County Composting Facility. This project is sponsored by Teton County.

From JH Votes Yes

Vote YES for sustainability.

Teton County’s current waste diversion rate is 34%, meaning 66% of our community’s waste ends up in a landfill. In order to meet the shared community goal of reducing our footprint and increasing our waste diversion rate to 60% by 2030 we must greatly improve and expand our recycling and composting capabilities. These SPET funds will be used to construct a covered outdoor area of residential bins, a sorting system infrastructure, a truck scale at the Teton County Recycling Center and a food waste sorting system at the Teton County Composting Facility.
